I spent a year doing mission work with Hard as Nails Ministries. During that year we went to a men's conference on Palm Sunday. A priest named Fr. Joe Freedy from Pittsburgh was one of the main speakers for the event. He spoke of his conversion story and how that led into a vocation story. The talk really hit me hard and gave me this overwhelming call to go to seminary. Toward the end of the conference, the emcee asked all the young men discerning the priesthood to stand up so that everyone there could pray over them. I really did not want to stand up but I knew I should. So I did.
We went on a silent retreat right after the conference. While I was there I kept asking God if I should go to seminary. Every time I asked Him whether or not I should go, He said, "Go!" So I went. Bishop Caggiano has been very supportive of Hard as Nails Ministries and so when he heard I was thinking about seminary he invited me to apply to St. John Fisher. So, I did. And now, here I am.
