Fr. John Connaughton has been the Vocation Director for the Diocese of Bridgeport since January 2016. Ordained to the priesthood in 2013, Fr. Connaughton worked as Parochial Vicar at St. Thomas More in Darien until Bishop Frank Caggiano appointed him to his current position.
A native of Trumbull, Fr. Connaughton is an alumnus of St. Theresa grade school and St. Joseph High School. After studying History at the University of Dallas, Fr. Connaughton worked in Connecticut for several years and entered St. John Fisher Seminary after going to graduate school.
"For many years I felt myself drawn to the priesthood, but I struggled to accept Our Lord's invitation to serve Him in this way. I am so grateful for His patience with me. I pray that through my work as Vocation Director I might help other young men who feel called to priesthood respond to what God is offering them so that they too might know the great joy of life as a priest of Jesus Christ."
